Payment Gateway
CardGate® is an online real-time Credit Card Payment Gateway product that uses Commonwealth Bank's COMMLINK™ on-line credit card authorisation and transaction system to process Amex, Diners, JCB, Mastercard and Visa credit cards.
CardGate® is a turnkey Windows® NT/2000 PC based package that interfaces to Merchant's Mail Order/Telephone Order "MOTO" transaction systems - be it on a PC or mainframe. For example, AMWAY Australia conducts credit card transactions in real-time using their IBM AS400 transaction system.
There are two methods of inter-application communication, batch and on-line. With batch mode, the Merchant’s application writes a text file to the CardGate® PC which reads the file and performs the transactions, writing out a response file.
In on-line mode, CardGate® is running as a ‘WinSock’ server with which the Merchant application communicates using this industry standard interface.
Many Merchants, such as SRG DataSell, operate modern PC based sales call centres to provide faster, more efficient turnaround by processing credit card payments in typically five seconds or less.
CardGate® is being used in numerous interactive voice response (IVR) systems, such as those developed and supplied by Premier Technologies. IVR services providers such as Information Dialling Services and Premier Technologies use CardGate®'s multi-merchant capabilities to supply 1-800/1-900 telephone services that accept credit card payments over the phone on behalf of their clients.
Custom Interfaces to CardGate® can be built to suit a Merchant's exacting requirements and specific computing environment.
There is a growing list of CardGate® Systems Integrators who are adding value to our product by providing third party add-ons.
Large companies such as South East Water, appreciate the scaleability of CardGate® and implement mutliple delivery channels (eg batch, call centre and IVR) into a central CardGate® Payment Gateway which can process thousands of transactions per hour.
