Cardgate® Internet Service
The CardGate® Internet Service (CIS) allows Commonwealth Bank Internet Merchants to process credit and charge card transactions in real time over the Internet.
The Merchant’s system communicates with the CIS processing centre using encryption. Secure SSL communications is used to communicate with the cardholder’s browser whilst they enter their card number.
The CardGate Internet Service can be interfaced to a wide variety of e-commerce applications. This provides the Internet Merchant with choice and flexibility. For example, you can choose from:
- Simple static pages such as CardGate.net's own bill payment page.
- "Do it yourself" shop builder packages, such as provided by Shop Factory.
- Web shop hosting service providers
- Immediate fulfilment systems
- Interfaces to your sophisticated web applications

To use the service the Merchant must be a Commonwealth Bank Mail Order/Telephone Order Merchant approved for Internet Orders.
